I have been very bad the last week!! As Ryan so gently put it: I am “two minutes away from a sit-down,” which essentially means that I am spending way too much money!! I have many excuses for this burst of the wallet. . .such as, I am feeling better, my stomach isn’t as bloated (which means I can live outside of the sweat pants), and I didn’t get any clothes for Christmas except PJ’s. However, the biggest reason is Michelle was in town!!
I love it when my sister in-law comes to visit. Not only do I have the best laughing fits with her but I get some of the best “Utah Style” advice!! That may not make any sense to you, but Utah is the capital of modest clothing and pyramid scheme shopping!! I am either in the wrong circle of friends out here or it’s so true! I can only get the Cookie Lee, Pampered Chef, Shade, Modbe, and any of the other fun party shopping stuff from Utahns. So when Michelle comes into town I treat it like my own personal fashion show!! I probably drive her crazy with my constant blabbering of “where did you get this?” “Where can I find this?” and “How long ago did you get this? Is it still in stores/websites?”
So to all of my Utah friends that know about the following items that I am about to share with you . . . SHAME on you!! Don’t you know that you are my link to the “Utah Style”? You all really need to keep me in on this loop!! And to all that did not know about the following items . . . you are welcome . . . you may kiss the ground I walk on and the ground Michelle walks on later!!
Here we go . . . the reason Ryan is threatening to cut up my credit cards!! I hope you enjoy!!
Downeast Basics at www.downeastbasics.com and apparently at the mall in Utah
They have the cutest dress called “Bistro Dress”. I got it in red . . . same as Michelle’s dress and color!! (Do you hate me yet, Michelle?)
Also had to get this really cute “Princess” shirt . . . please don’t anyone tell me that the baby doll/pregnancy shirts are going out of style!! I am just coming to love these! It took me a while to get involved with this trend. Let’s all keep it alive together!! Anyone with me??
Hapari Swimwear at http://www.hapari.com/hpr and also a location in Utah County somewhere. The "Shores" shirts, I am unable to download picture to show you. Looks a lot like a sports bra with cap sleeves.
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have to layer their tops!! Whether it is for a dress or for a low cut shirt! These little babies are awesome!! I found a few other brands and styles at different websites. However, these particular shirts are the ones that I went for because of their price, and the color range!! (See Ryan, I was cost sensitive) I love these!! Again you are all welcome!!

Michelle shared this little treasure of a store with me at the end of summer! I have gone back since and just recently got this great shirt. The pin tuck shirt is a staple in everyone’s closet. You always need a white dress shirt it’s a classic! The thing I love about this shirt is it works with fat arms!! I know not all of you or any of you have this problem!! I have a constant inner battle with my thighs, upper arms, and my freckles. All things that are pretty common knowledge about me! Well, this shirt instead of having tourniquets for arm cuffs they have a hidden gathered stretch!! It was as if the heavens opened up for me angels were singing and all was right with the world!! But I had to buy the medium, because I can’t stand not having something long enough for my torso, so of course it was too big in the chest area . . . yet another battle with my body! Overall I love this shirt!!
Last but not least something that I found on my own!! Can you believe it?!?!
As many of you know by now, I hate my freckles. Strong word for a strong dislike! I know. Add it to my list of issues I can confide in Dr Phil over. So as a way of hiding them I use a lot of makeup. Some of you may ask why would you prefer to look like a streetwalker than an earth loving hippie? I am sure it is talked about in hushed tones when I am not around. I would rather wear the pounds of makeup than let you all see my annoying freckles! So there!! Go and hush tone all you want!!
So, back on what I found. I have a pro deal with Mac. (yes, I am that into makeup!) 40% off except for viva glam items (if you are ever in need of a discount call me)!! When it comes to applying the foundation, I have always been a sponge girl. I don’t like the bacteria issue when applying with fingers, and I don’t like the lines that are left with the foundation brush, that is until I found this foundation brush!! I will put it plainly for you. Most people apply a normal amount of foundation, where as I spackle it on like I am laying brick!! This brush is great for that!! If you are just wanting a light application without wasting a lot of product this is still the brush for you!! The lines are still there, although not as noticeable as they were with the previous brushes. When used in conjunction with this buffer brush and powder they are all but a distant memory!!
So there you go, just a little tidbit as to why I am in trouble!! I hope you all do not get into trouble by following my very bad example. But if you do come across some great finds please let me know about them so I can plan my next “two minutes away from a sit-down”!!

This is my first comment on blog. How appropo since you are the one that created it for me! How embaressing (I can't spell) that this fashion thing is all about me! I have to give the credit to good ole' Alicia. Good to know that Reagan has the same dress too! It's Alicia that suggested it for me personally. When Alicia speaks, I listen! Seriously though, how funny is this that I grew up in So Cal and now live here and figure out fashion living in UT and you grew up in CA and are listening to someone who lives in UT! Crazy! I'll trade ya! Way too generous in your comments. I learn lots of great and cool thing from YOU! You little trend setter, you! Sorry- long comment.
