Ryan's Birthday Weekend!!

(sorry for all the posts. . .I am playing catch up)

Every year we go to the Frozen Fury game in Vegas. It is the best hockey game ever!! It is also a coincidence that it usually runs on the same weekend as Ryan's birthday!! So even though Ryan insists that it isn't his birthday weekend. . .it really is!! I get fireworks on my birthday. . .Ryan gets a fun Hockey game on his!! It's like his and hers towels!! :)

This year we didn't have our usual crowd. With Aaron away on a mission and other friends and family members having scheduling conflicts, we had a smaller group this year!! It was still a sweet time!!

Speaking of Sweet . . . Ryan got us a suite at the Hilton!! It was so cool!! It was essentially two rooms with a huge bar. If we drank and had parties it would have been a perfect room for it.

We went out to eat at Benihana's. That was fun. The chef guy (I don't know the technical term for him) kept saying, "yummy yummy" after everything. For instance he would squirt the teriyaki sauce and say, "Coca Cola yummy yummy". It was funny. . . or it may be a "had to be there" kind of funny!! :)

We spent the day doing all the tourist things. . .had to stop at the M&M factory, Coca Cola Factory, Bellagio Gellato, and the forum shops.

Ryan got some yummy M&M's. . .M&M's yummy yummy. .. funny to any of you yet?? ;)

Brian at the Gellato place. He just got an iPhone. The boy was showing us some cool tricks with that sucker. . .the boy was always looking at it a lot!!! It was fun having him around again!! Thanks again for coming Brain!!!

It was a bummer that the Kings lost in the shoot out. . .but it was a great game. . .lots of fights!! On the rink and off the rink!! ;) A few of the people in our group got into an allocation with another fan in the audience. . .I hope that the people in our group will not have a bad taste in their mouth for other hockey games. ;)

The love of my life is turning the big 3-0!!

I should warn all you readers out there. . .this may get a little mushy! :)

I can't thank this man enough for letting me be a part of his life! I have been blessed to have him for a little over a decade. Even more lucky to have him for a whole eternity!

Since he is turning 30. . .here are thirty things I love about him!

1. He always kisses me before he leaves. . .and when he comes home.

2. I could spend hours and hours with him and never get bored!

3. I never want to be away from him.

4. He is a great singer. . .He needs to sing more often.

5. He laughs at my dumb jokes, and puts up with my humor.

6. He supports everyone and tries to help out whoever he can.

7. He is very giving, caring, selfless, and loving.

8. He is so athletic. . .seriously, he is good at everything!!

9. He is Brilliant! I mean really really really smart!!

10. He makes a large effort to give me everything I want or need. I have only had to fill my own gas tank a handful of times since being married to him!! I am so spoiled!! :)

11. He is an animal lover. . .just not my dog.

12. He is adventurous. Our first scuba dive trip was with Sharks!! The Man is crazy!!

13. He is an amazing Friend, Sibling, Son, Grandson, and Husband.

14. He finds the good in every situation and everyone.

15. He is an honorable man!

16. He is my Protector. I feel so safe with him!

17. He has the best smile and facial expressions. I love that I know what he is thinking all the time!

18. He has the sweetest little giggle. . .and if you are lucky enough to hear it. . .he has the cutest laugh!

19. He is so sexy and attractive!! I love his eyes, his lips, his hands. . .. I better stop there...don't want to scare the kids!! :)

20. He is not concerned with material possessions. He lets me indulge while he keeps a level head.

21. He is a planner. He plans every ones' vacations, and entertainment.

22. On top of the planning vacations he is the best bargain hunter!

23. On top of all that. . .he is the best to vacation with!! I love all the places we have gone together. He has taken me to a lot of amazing destinations!

24. He gives the best hugs! And the best cuddles!!

25. We have the same taste in most everything!

26. He will share his dessert, dinner, drink, just about everything with me!

27. He holds me when I wake up from my many nightmares, and comforts me till I fall back asleep.

28. He takes care of me when I need a blessing, or just someone to cry with.

29. He has great self control. Never any rash reactions or judgments.

AND the very best thing in the world. . .
30. I know that he loves me. . .That is the greatest gift anyone has ever given me. I can honestly say that he loves me and never lets a day go by without telling me or showing me!!

Now you have just a small inkling as to why he is the best thing in my life! I am truly blessed to have him as my husband and best friend.

If you don't know him. . .then I am sorry! He is definitely worth getting to know!

I love you Ryan!! Happy Birthday! Thank you for the memories and the love you have shared with me over the years! I love you with all my heart!! I hope you have a wonderful birthday!!

Camping... We really did it!!

That's right. . .Ryan got to go camping.

We have always talked about going camping but we never actually did it until now!!

It was for one night. . .I think if we do it again we will need to do at least two nights. It was so much work getting things packed up, set up, meals made, cleaning, breaking down, and getting things put back at home that I think we will need to make it last over a few days.

It was so nice! We got to have Eric and Trisha hang out with us. Trisha is officially Superwoman in my book!! She went camping with a newborn and a three year old! It was a blast hanging out with them!!

I think I did all right with the camping aspect. . .the night was a little rough. I think my mind went through every scary movie known to man. . .needless to say I didn't sleep much. What with thoughts of Blair witch and other horrible movies I was a mess. :)

Ryan really enjoyed getting outdoors again. I think we are planning another camping trip in the next few weeks. . .anyone who wants to join us let us know!! This time it will be on the beach (which means I will be thinking of a whole new mess of scary stories and movies to put me to sleep!).

I look and felt beat!! It was so nice to relax by the fire.

Eric, Trisha and Fam. Thanks again Trisha and Eric for coming. . . and for bringing the camera and sharing the pictures. I can't believe with everything else that we packed that we forgot a camera!! Glad you guys were thinking!!

This picture is funny!! I found some fun recipes and ideas for camping. . .well this one didn't quite work out as well. It was suppose to be biscuits wrapped around a stick and cooked over the fire. Then you dip in butter and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on it. . .well they slipped off the wire hangers (I think we were suppose to use bamboo sticks soaked in water) and Ryan tried to salvage it over the fire. . .he eventually gave up and used the camping stove. It was so nice of him to fix my mess up!!

The other recipe I got turned out better. It was Cinnamon rolls cooked inside an orange peel wrapped in foil. So one out of two isn't bad. .. right??

Bonfire at the beach!!

Sounds like we have just stepped out of a Gidget movie!!

Ryan has been on a bonfire and camping kick. So Wednesday night we got together with Eric, Trisha, Natalia, and Peyton and had a fun bonfire night!!

Ryan and Eric broke up some wood pallets. We easily had the largest fire out of everyone!!

With no hammer to break up the pallets the guys decided to break them with their bare hands. . .and feet!!

I had a blast playing with my camera and taking pictures of everyone.

Am I spoiled, or what??!!

I figure with all my bad luck and horrible things that happen. . .it's fate's way of making me even with the world since I have the best husband in the world! What other adult man would sit through this for their adult wife that acts too much like a child sometimes?

I am in love with the movie Sleeping Beauty. Yes, that makes me both childish and girlie!



If you have ever had a chance to see a movie at the El Capitan in Holywood then you will know just how exciting it is!!

You walk off of Hollywood Blvd and into an ornate and beautiful theatre. They have this organ come up from the ground underneath the stage and this brilliant, talented man plays it for you.

Then Sleeping Beauty comes out (or whoever/whatever depending on what movie you see) and she dances around and sings. It was so cool!! We had a little girl sitting next to us and the minute Sleeping Beauty walked out on stage all the kids in the audience yell out, "It's Princess Aurora." I secretly was just as excited as all the kids in the audience.

It was such a fun night!! Ryan was the best to take me to see this. I have never had the chance to see this movie in the theatre before. It was so cool!! Not only did he take me to see the movie. . .but he also got me a small bag of popcorn, chocolate covered gummy bears, caramel covered marshmallow, and a bear claw (all items besides the popcorn were bought across the street from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate factory). Perfect night!! Such an awesome husband!!

And he is back in the game. . .

This cute husband of mine finally got to get back in the game!! This is the second time this year that Ryan has been in a basketball league. Due to this CRAZY summer he was only able to play in the last game.

He totally ROCKED it!! The other team kept trying to foul him . . . but he was a force to be reckoned with!! He beat the other team!! He was amazing. I was so proud!!

We got our Kings season tickets today!! He is a happy boy!!

The funny thing about it is we are on the pictures oo a few of the tickets!! I think it is sooo cool!! We are on all the season ticket holders tickets!! Here are a few:

I think it is so funny!! Sean, Monica (Evan in the womb), Ryan and I are famous!! We will be having a signing on these games to all those who would like our autograph!! heeheehee

I think this means that Sean and Monica need to go with us to the games that they are on the tickets of! That or we will give them the ticket stub for them to keep!! :)

Every time the season tickets come they are sent in a really cool box. . .and of course Felix (who happens to be named after Felix Potvin, ex kings goalie) loves to sit in the box.

VACATION ahhhhh....

That's right!! We went on a much needed vacation!! My husband, the work aholic was finally able to relax!! Unfortunatly, I never had the courage to take away his computer and cell phone. . .but he did sleep!! That is a win in my book!! :)
It was the ultimate vacation.
Relaxing. . .check!
He and I alone. . .check!
Eating to our hearts content. . . check!
Having a much needed vacation with the man I love. . .CHECK CHECK CHECK!!

The following list is exactly why we BOTH needed a vacation!!
All of this happend in the span of two months!!! UUGGGGHHHH

*I think this can go without mention. . .but this definitly is the top of the list.
*We haven't had a vacation in forever. . .well for us four months is forever. . :) We really really really needed some time away together!
*Ryan was victim to yet another car accident in under a year!! His poor back will never be the same.
*That same week Ryan had to deal with an angry Broker and he accidentally damaged (nearly broke) his foot with moving equipment and had to wear a bootie.
*He sliced his wrist (on accident. . .I hope!!) while cutting rope and had to get six stitches and three worried people hovering over him in the ER (thank you to Terry and Vicky for being there for the both of us!! Mostly Ryan though!) (P.S. I got to be Nurse Heather and take the stitches out myself with the help of youtube!! Hollar!!)
*That nice house we put an offer on fell through. . . arrgghhhh!!
*My hormones are(were) on a rampage. . .we both needed a break from that!! :)
*Sweet Brother in-law having issues that were stressful on the whole family!
*Father in-law having scary health issues!!
*We were away from each other for a whole THREE weeks!! I came back and it felt like we had to be reintroduced!!

I think it goes without saying. . .we need some really good news soon!! :)

Needless to say this has been the worst summer that I can remember. I am so glad it's over!!

Well, it's not really over yet. . .there is still some time to make it better!! Not to mention it could have been a whole lot worse!!

We have definitly learned a lot from the last few months. . .in a few years we may look back on this summer and laugh. . .you know those laughs that you want to cry because it is so horrible yet so funny at the same time???!!!

Oh summer. . .

What I love most about all the different seasons, is you feel like a new season you can start fresh!! I am really looking forward to fall!!

This list is exactly why I love FALL!!

*the weather starts to cool down. . .a little!
*the leaves change color
*The smells of people lighting fires in thier fireplaces (or if you have a fireplace. . .being able to sit in front of it!)
*Kids are going back to school
*SCHOOL SUPPLIES!! I love going to the stores and seeing aisles of school supplies with stressed out parents and children in tow!! Brings back memories!
*THE CLOTHES!! Lets face it. .. for most us mormon girls out there fall (and winter)is(are) really the only time we can be trendy and modest!! I usually go nuts with buying clothes this time of year. . .I need to stay away from the malls the next few months!! :)
*Extra blankets at night! I love to sleep with tons and tons of blankets!! (I totally see why Sam loves it so much!! Auntie Heather loves her little Sam!!)
*Apples and Pumpkins!!
*The days get shorter. . .you see the stars a lot sooner at night!!
*The absolute best: It's the countdown to winter (another fresh start season) and all the fun holidays!!
