No More Pink Party

Today Lacy went to the groomers for the first time since we dyed her. She needed it bad!
To remind all the readers out there of our pink dog. This is what she looked like after the dye job was all said and done. Pretty cute, eh??!!

I was a stress case, I thought for sure they were going to brow beat me for dying her hair pink!! I was trying everything in my power to convince Ryan that he should drop her off instead of me. I figure he is much better with conflicts and confrontation than I am. I avoid them. Yes, I am a wimp!!

Do you see how bad she needs to groomed?? It's amazing how long that pink lasted, you can still remnants of it.

Needless to say, I called and explained it to the groomer over the phone . . . she was really easy on me. PHEW!!

I have tried grooming her myself . . . but when it came to the anal gland and the pulling out ear hair . . . let’s just say it wasn’t pleasant for Lacy or me!! Poor little thing. It wasn’t until my sweet little neighbor Sam told me of a great groomer that he uses for his Mooshie that I was able to justify taking her to the groomer. They are great with her and the price should be more, I feel like I am robbing them!! The spazzed out Hyena look. It is still cute. She just looks like she is on hyper meds and has lost a lot of weight. Isn't it cute??!! (Meant to sound sarcastic. I really love my dog and all her looks; I swear!!) You can see that she still has some pink on her. She is cotton candy!

Grooming a Cavachon (this is Lacy’s breed) is a battle in and of itself. Trying to make them look less like a Bichon and even less like a poodle is pretty hard to do. I try to get them to do a puppy cut on her. Basically it is suppose to look like all the hair is the same length as a puppy would look. For some reason she always looks like a spazzed out Hyena when she comes back. I suppose there is only so much a groomer could do. Maybe next time I will try the Bichon cut, I just hate that it looks like my girlie dog has lamb chops. They claim it is to make them look more like a teddy bear. . .I don't see it though.

This is her as a puppy!! That is the puppy cut, that's what I aim for everytime I take her in to get groomed. Wasn't she cute?? She still is really cute, don't you think?

The funny thing is the breeder told me that she wouldn’t have the frizzy curly hair or the eye-stain of a Bichon, well she has both. Not a big deal, she fits in perfectly with my imperfections!!

In like a King out like an Angel

One of the many perks of Ryan’s job is he has access to Angel’s season tickets.
It has been so nice to go to the games. I am more accustomed to the nose bleed section. This is why it is such a pleasant change to have club seats!! We are the first row which means I have no one blocking my view, I am able to rest my feet on the cement fence thing, we have a waitress come and bring me yummy nachos and ice cream sandwich, and we are on the aisle so we don’t have to worry about walking in front of people to get to the bathroom. Can I just say I am in heaven!! I am going to gain so much weight watching these games with all this food!! It has been really fun to get dressed up in newly acquired Angels gear and have a date night with Ryan and whoever joins us in the other two seats. I love Ryan’s job. He has never been this happy and this crazy about work in a long time!! He is a workaholic but he is enjoying it!! I love that!!

Look how cool these seats are!! SO much fun!!! Look how cute this fan is!! :)

This is our view from our seats!! So cool!!

Look at these other cute fans!!

I'm not sure why we took a "prom" picture at the game? Oh well!! Do you love all the layers I am wearing to fight off the cold at the night game?!

Disneyland. . . or maybe not.

Wow!! The quickest way to my heart is to throw in a Disneyland Pass. It was such a generous treat when Tawny and Brandon offered Ryan and me a pass to Disneyland.

We had annual passes for the first two years of living here. But this last year with Kings games and all the other sports things we figured Disneyland would be left by the wayside too often. It’s a bummer that hockey is during the winter and fall months, and that Disneyland is busy in the summer months. Funny how it just doesn’t work out to have both.
I was so excited to get back to Disneyland again!! I was willing to go there alone and have Ryan just meet me there when he was done with work!! So exciting!!
It was going to work out perfect to take Austin and Aubrey to Disneyland with me and then we would meet up with Brandon and Ryan later that day. After the kids got home from school I piled them in my car blasted, Disney radio, and headed off to our day with Mickey, Minnie, and the gang!!

Little did we know that Austin and Aubrey would have a blackout day on their passes!! It was a little disappointing. I am not sure who was more saddened by the turn of events; me or the kids. That wasn’t going to get us down. We headed into the shops of Downtown Disney. All it took was a trip to the candy store and a pow-wow on the fountain bench for us to get our happy day back. It was so much fun to laugh and play with Austin and Aubrey. And better yet Brandon treated us to a movie!! What a great day it turned out to be!! We went in to see Horton Hears a Who. It was a little slow but I loved the story and the message. It released my love for Dr Seuss again.
I felt really bad for Brandon. He had to run to my car (all the way in the covered parking) get Austin’s booster seat and his coat, and then run back to pick up the kids. All the while the kids and I were enjoying the live music and looking in at the big Lego shop!

It was such a fun night! Ryan came shortly after, only he forgot his ticket. So instead of going to the park we went to dinner and headed home.

A big gigantic thank you to Tawny and Brandon for providing a fun night!! And an even bigger thanks to Austin and Aubrey for being my dates!! How can you not have fun with the little tikes!!

We ended up not being able to go to Disneyland before the passes expired. So since it was Sunday we gave the tickets to some of Ryan’s employees. It was a win either way!! They were so excited to go to Disneyland that it made it worthwhile to not be able to go. As long as the person would enjoy it as much or more then it was a good ending!!

Tag you're it!!

This is supposed to be 100 things about me . . . I think I will follow Christy’s example and do only 60. For one thing I am not sure anyone would be interested in even knowing 60 things about me . . . let alone 100!! So here you go . . . another tag!!

1. I am still scared of the dark.
2. I hate scary movies; I will only go to them out of peer pressure.
3. I am easily manipulated
4. I have a strange tracking disorder in my brain where I will find the most expensive item in the store and want that one.
5. I absolutely love movies and TV
6. I love everything on TLC; Baby Story, Bringing Home Baby, Jon and Kate Plus Eight, etc.
7. I love reading, mostly romance and mystery
8. I oil paint
9. I knit
10. I crochet
11. I quilt . . . only with my mom though, I am not brave enough to tackle a quilt on my own.
12. I love putting together parties . . . as long as they are not at my home.
13. I love to garden. I haven’t since moving from Utah. It was so hard to leave all my plants and I am hoping that we will be leaving this condo shortly, so I am not going to plant anything here.
14. My goal is to be the favorite Aunt
15. I love animals. Anything that is considered to be a “pet” I would like. Note to reader: Tarantulas are not pets!!
16. If I lived by myself I would have a house full of animals. I am sure I would be considered the crazy lady on the street . . . if I am not already!!
17. I can’t stand the quiet. I get too jumpy. The tv or radio is always on in my house. Even if I am not watching I like the noise.
18. I have a very sensitive sniffer. Some of my favorite smells: Ryan’s underarms (I know I am so weird), fresh cut grass, the ocean, anything fruity or sweet, baked goods, my Grandma’s roses, smell of baby, my grandparents home, the forest/creeks, the smell of snow before it falls, the way my Grandpa smelled a mixture of Old Spice and Maalox. I love the way California smells!!
19. I am addicted to make up, skin care, and hair products. Something new comes out or someone has found a new item I am jumping to get it and try it!!
20. I am a hoarder with recipes, make-up, skin care, hair products, books, crafts, scrapbooking, digi-scrapbooking, animals, cleaning products, and just about everything else in my house.
21. I love sprinkles!! I will make something just so I can use sprinkles.

23. I am trying to learn photography. Thanks Kim for your help!!
24. I love to scuba dive, especially when we see a new sea creature.
25. I love spending time with Ryan. I try to base my interests around him so we can spend more time with each other. Hence, scuba diving, Kings games, Angels baseball, Lakers basketball, and everything else.
26. I love to cuddle and I love things to cuddle with. The best things to cuddle with lately; Lacy the dog, Ryan (especially in the nook and “Heather Hugs”)
27. I know sign language. (I am forgetting it, unfortunately)
28. I am much closer to Ryan’s side of the family than my own.
29. I love going on vacation. Ryan has taken me to a lot of exciting locations!!
30. I love to people watch. So fun to imagine a whole story in your head of the complete strangers around you.
31. I love making things for people. I get more enjoyment out of giving it to them than they enjoy having it. Hence all the desktops I make for people!!
32. I love hugs, but I hate being the one to initiate the hug . . . I am always worried that the person is not a hugger.
33. I love candy or anything sweet!! Hot Tamales are my biggest weakness.
34. It is always an inner struggle to get myself to go to the gym, and then it is a struggle to stop and go home.
35. I need to eat more vegetables. I never know how to prepare them the right way or how to pick them. If anyone can help with that it would be great!!
36. I have always wanted to have kids . . . my career goal in life was to be a stay at home mom!!
37. I hate my freckles!! Hence the addiction to make-up!
38. I love water!! I take really long showers and when I had a tub I would sit in it for hours!
39. I currently have six bird feeders outside my window. I love animals!!
40. In movies I will get more upset about an animal being harmed/killed than a human. I wonder if the reason for this is I am immune to people being killed in film. That or I am strange!
41. I get along more with the men and children than women.
42. I love accents, especially an Irish brogue!! Ireland is the next destination!! Or Scotland! I’m not picky!
43. I worry about my little brother all the time!
44. I try to take care of everyone . . . it’s a problem. I will give too much of myself and it drives Ryan crazy.
45. I can’t stand the feel of wood on my feet, especially patios!! It feels so dry and dirty!
46. I have a hard time with getting my hands dirty. I am always wearing latex gloves when I clean and cook. My hands get so dry and chapped from all the excessive washing.
47. I love trying new foods.
48. I live around a lot of "older" retired people who love to chat. I would love to get more friends my own age near me.
49. I am having a lot of battles right now. Life is too hard sometimes. “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” -Plato
50. I have a hard time with cereal, I don’t like breakfast.
51. I am instantly attracted to someone who can make me laugh. I love being around people who are funny.
52. I love having a new outfit.
53. My imagination is too big for my own good. I am constantly getting myself scared.
54. I run for my life when I come up the stairs from the basement. For some reason I think there is something living/dwelling in there that is chasing after me!!

56. I hate confrontation! I will hold things in until I am with someone I trust to let out my feelings.
57. I have a hard time trusting people; loyalty is a key factor in earning my trust. If I feel that someone has been disloyal/or hurtful to me or someone I love I will separate myself from them.
58. I could spend all day in bed as long as I had my computer, the animals, a good book, TV, and Ryan with me.
59. I am almost done with this list!! (is that cheating??)
60. I have a hard time making up my mind, I am very indecisive.

Yeah!! I am done!!

Ok, I tag: Annelise, Tawny (welcome to blogger), Monica, Jenny, and anyone else who feels so inclined!!
P.S. Thanks for the tag Christy!!

I miss you all!!

First off let me just say that I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Weekend!

I am so sad that I wasn’t able to see any of my friends while I was up in that area!! If it makes any of you feel better, I only saw one out of five siblings, my father once, and my mother twice. It was such a busy weekend with family visits and catching up!!
I am trying to schedule another trip out there. . Hopefully next time it will be long enough to give Kim a much needed hug and a tear or two, Christy a hug and a high five, Jenny a hug and digi-scrap stuff, Annelise a hug, and see all my other friends that have all moved out to Riverton . . . I miss you all!!!

I am so glad to be able to change my blog background finally!! So tired of the shamrocks!! So enjoy it while it lasts!! Hopefully first thing tomorrow I will have a new one!!! Atleast none of you blogs can pinch my blog!! heeheehee

A few Irish Blessings/Drinking Toasts/and Sayings. . .enjoy!

May you always have walls for the winds, a roof for the rain, tea beside the fire, laughter to cheer you, those you love near you, and all your heart might desire.

May the sun shine, all day long, everything go right, and nothing wrong. May those you love bring love back to you,and may all the wishes you wish come true!

May God grant you many years to live,For sure he must be knowing. The earth has angels all too few. And heaven is overflowing.

May the Irish hills caress you.May her lakes and rivers bless you.May the luck of the Irish enfold you.May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.May the saint protect ye-An' sorrow neglect ye, An' bad luck to the oneThat doesn't respect yet' all that belong to ye, An long life t' yer honor-That's the end of my song t' ye!

May your neighbors respect you, Trouble neglect you, The angels protect you, And heaven accept you.

May you die in bed at ninety-five years, shot by a jealous husband(or wife).May your doctor never earn a dollar out of you and may your heart never give out. May the ten toes of your feet steer you clear of all misfortune, and before you're much older, may you hear much better toasts than this.

May you have the hindsight to know where you've been, the foresight to know where you're going and the insight to know when you're going too far.

May the frost never afflict your spuds. May the outside leaves of your cabbage always be free from worms. May the crow never pick your haystack, and may your donkey always be in foal.

Here's to you and yours, and to mine and ours. And if mine and ours ever come across to you and yours,I hope you and yours will do as much for mine and ours,As mine and ours have done for you and yours!

When we drink, we get drunk. When we get drunk, we fall asleep. When we fall asleep, we commit no sin. When we commit no sin, we go to heaven. So, let's all get drunk, and go to heaven!

Hooray for all the Summer Blockbusters!!

That’s right girls!! It’s coming out!! For years it has been nothing more than a tease; now it has come to fruition!! Sex and the City the movie will be released May 30.

I apologize now to all of you who do not approve of this show/post. I should be a better person and a better example by not encouraging others to watch. Sorry.

Calling out to all my girls (and open to discussion men) who are up for a “girl’s night out”!

I figure we can wear our designer duds, have Cosmopolitans (alcohol free for those of us who don’t drink), have dinner out someplace fabulous, and finish the night off with the movie I have been thrilled to death to watch. Depending on the time, maybe we can all stop off and get some more fattening food and dish about the movie.

So let me know who is up for this!! At least just let me know who else is excited for this movie to come out.

More movies that I am excited to see:
Love Guru (looks so funny!! Justin Timberlake looks ridiculous! It’s suppose to be similar to Austin Powers. So excited!!)
Semi Pro (Will Farrell, need I say more?)
The Other Boleyn Girl (looks very interesting, and dramatic)
Leatherheads (not a huge fan of Renee and George, but I love John Krasinski. We will see if that love can hold up a movie!)
Baby Mama (Looks really sweet and funny, totally relatable)
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (a good book)
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (see if he still has it in him . . . looking a little old to me)
You Don’t Mess With the Zohan (Adam Sandler, need I say more)
Get Smart (grew up on the TV show. ..So excited with Steve Carrel)
Wall - E (loved the movie Batteries Not Included. This reminds me of it)
The Mummy 3 (open to debate, loved the first two. However, I wasn' too thrilled with "The Scorpion King.")
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (not in the summer show list, but still excited for it!)

Plus many more fun summer blockbusters!! To see them all visit this link: http://www.firstshowing.net/schedule2008

This is why I love summer so much!! All the great movies are coming out!!

What movies are you going to want to see? Do you want to go with me to any of them?
